Plustek Program Was Unable To Load Your Scanners
Upgrading to a new version of an operating system, including in particular a move to Windows 8 or Windows RT, can lead to all sorts of problems trying to get your old hardware to work with the new OS. Scanners have the additional problem of not only typically needing updated drivers, but needing updated scan utilities too. And for scanners that come with applications software, there's a good chance that the programs will need updates as well.

Interestingly, our discussions with various scanner manufacturers suggest that you're more likely to have to hunt up a driver for your scanners than for other hardware, like printers. HP, for example, told me that Windows 8 will include 450 drivers for HP printers, but none at all for scanners. If you need a Windows 8 driver for an HP scanner, you have to go to HP's site.
- Your computer will now restart and the MFL-Pro Suite has now been removed from your PC. Go to step 3. Once the computer restarts, you must disable any Third-party Firewall or Anti-Virus software such as Kaspersky. Please contact the software manufacturer for support with disabling this software.
- If your computer still does not recognize the scanner after Windows update, please refer to No.2 My scanner does not operate properly. For Windows ® 7 (or earlier) users: Depending on the USB 3.0 host controller manufacturer, the computer may not recognize your scanner. In this case, connect via USB 2.0 to use the scanner.
- You might try to make use of Window's WIA so that Acrobat 'speaks' to the scanner software through that. Regardless, best is use of a TWAIN driver that is proper for the OS. Providing a proper TWAIN driver is the device vendor's responsibility.
The Plustek Opticfilm scanner. First impressions are good. The scanner arrives in a large box, well protected. Half of the box real estate is given over to Silverfast marketing, which is some indication of the co-operation between the two companies. Theme: Installation problems Q: A: (1) Mount the disk image containing the HP scanner software. (2) Control-click to 'show package contents.' (3) Navigate within the package to a folder called 'sub installers.' There will be a series of installation apps in there, all of which work in Leopard. Run those, one at a time, and then you should be set. If you're still debating whether to upgrade to Windows 8, this makes it that much more important to find out what kind of Windows 8 support you can get for your scanner before you make the decision. If you've already upgraded, it means you can probably use all the help you can get in your hunt for a driver and other support.
Either way, to help you find the information you need, we contacted every scanner manufacturer we're aware of and asked where to find details about their Windows 8 and Windows RT support, including where to download the files. The answers, for those who had one, are listed below by manufacturer. If appropriate, we've also included a link to a Web page where you can find more information.
We've necessarily focused primarily on drivers. We've also included information on scan utilities, if that was available, but we've largely ignored application programs that may have come with the scanners. You'll probably want to check on software compatibility as well, to find out if there are any programs you need to upgrade if you want to keep using them. The best source for that information will usually be the software manufacturer.
If you can't find any information on your scanner in the list below, check back later. Some companies were still working on their upgrade strategy when we posted this story, and weren't able to get us answers. We will be updating the information as we get it.
Ambir
Ambir says that most, if not all, of its Windows 7 drivers will work with Windows 8, although Windows will stop during installation to ask if it's okay to install them. It also says that the scan utilities that come with its scanners are Windows 8 compatible as well. In addition, the company is in the process of developing updated drivers, for current models only, with full Windows 8 compatibility. To see if your model has a Windows 8 driver available, go to Ambir's Windows 8 page and browse through the top section of the page, which will include all supported models, with links to download the drivers as well as the latest scan utility for each model.
If you don't see your model in the Windows 8 section of the page, look through the list below that, which Ambir says will include all models that don't currently support Windows 8, with information about planned future Windows 8 compatibility and links to current drivers and scan utilities.
Ambir says it expects to provide Windows RT drivers as well, hopefully by January 1, 2013, but hasn't firmed up the timeframe. Once RT support is available, the company expects to provide an RT-specific page similar to the current page for Windows 8, with a link on the Windows 8 page to the Windows RT page.
Apparent
Apparent has only two models, Doxie and Doxie Go. According to Apparent, Doxie Go can work with Windows 8 using the built-in Windows mass storage drivers. The company expects to release a Windows 8 update of all the software, which will work with both models, by December 1, 2012. Once it's released, the update will be available for downloading from its support page. Apparent says it currently has no plans to support Windows RT.
Canon CanoScan Scanners
Canon says information on Windows 8 and Windows RT compatibility for its CanoScan scanners will be available online when Windows 8 is officially launched.
To find the compatibility information, go to the support page mentioned above, and click on the plus sign next to the Scanners option. You'll then see a list of all CanoScan scanners with Windows 8 and Windows RT compatibility information for each one. If a driver is available for your scanner, you can click on the scanner name to go to the download page for that scanner to download the driver.
Sims 3 crack alle erweiterungen. Hewlett-Packard Co.
Hewlett-Packard Co says that Windows 8 doesn't include any drivers for HP's Scanjet scanners, which means you'll need to download drivers from HP. To find out if a Windows 8 driver is available for any given scanner, and if so, what type of driver is available, go to www.hp.com/go/windows8upgrade, look for the heading My HP product & Windows 8 near the bottom of the page, and click on the link 'Can my printer and/or scanner be used with Windows 8?' Next, choose the appropriate region, which will take you to the Supported Printers for Windows 8 page (yes: the Printers page) for that region.
Near the bottom of the page is an entry for HP Scanjets. Click on the plus sign next to the entry and then choose the Click here link in the sentence Click here for HP Scanjets supported in Windows 8. You can then scroll down the page to see a list of scanners and compatibility information for each one, along with links for any downloads that are available. HP says that if a scanner isn't in this list, it is not supported in Windows 8. HP also says it offers no Windows RT support for any of it's scanners.
Ivina
To find out if your Bulletscan scanner is supported in Windows 8 or Windows RT and, if so, to what extent, Ivina suggests going to its online support page, choosing the Support button, then choosing the link to Email a question to Ivina support. All available drivers can be downloaded from its download section.
