- MXF is a container format. Adobe Media Encoder can encode and export movies in the Op-Atom variety of MXF containers using the DVCPRO25, DVCPRO50, and DVCPRO100, and AVC-Intra codecs. Premiere Pro can export MXF files containing the MPEG-2 essence items that comply with the XDCAM HD format used by such systems as Avid Unity.
- Just go into Adobe Media Encoder and create a new preset for XDCAM by choosing a Quicktime format with an XDCAM codec (any flavor you want - 4:2:2, 4:2:0, 50mbit, 35mbit, etc). Once you create a new preset in Adobe Media Encoder, that same preset will show up inside Adobe Premiere when you choose Export > Media.
- The problem is the export file from Sony PMW-200 is XDCAM MXF, which perhaps can't be imported to Premiere Pro (CC, CS6, CS5, CS4) directly cause that the codec in the XDCAM MXF isn't supported in Premiere Pro by chance since MXF is a video container.

- It is strongly recommended that you do not install any codec packs because, for the most part, they cause more problems than they solve.

- Morgan Stream Switcher is known to cause problems in Premiere Pro. Tsunami is another reportedly troublesome codec pack.
- The codec pack K-Lite Codec Pack Full (upto & including v5.4.4) does not cause any problems with CS4, but has solved many issues.

Note: The default bit depth for QT Animation, QT None is set at 8 bit which needs to be changed to 24 bit or 32 bit (for Alpha) to get better quality. This setting can be saved as a AME preset for further use.
